Founder & Lead Engineer

York is a software engineer, designer, and the founder of York Digital Media. For the past decade, he's built custom systems for businesses across 15+ industries — from HIPAA-compliant patient portals to AI voice agents to full-stack web applications used by hundreds of users daily.

He started YDM after seeing the same pattern repeat: businesses were paying agency rates for work handed to junior developers with a WordPress theme, or hiring freelancers who disappeared after launch. Neither option delivered what serious businesses actually needed — senior thinking applied to their specific problem, by someone who would be accountable for the result.

Every project at YDM is designed and built by York personally. That means one senior engineer who understands your system completely, can answer any question without checking with a team, and is still reachable two years after launch when something needs to change.

Build for the problem, not the platform.
The right tool is the one that solves your problem. Not the most popular framework, not the easiest thing to sell, not whatever the last agency used. The platform should be invisible to you — the outcome shouldn't be.

Ownership is non-negotiable.
Every client receives the full codebase, all credentials, complete documentation, and a walkthrough. No lock-in. No "you can only access this through us." If you wanted to hand your project to a different engineer tomorrow, you could. Most clients don't — but the option belongs to them.

Fewer clients. Better work.
A focused roster means every client gets full attention — not a spot in a queue. If we're at capacity when you reach out, you'll hear that directly. An honest "not yet" is better than a rushed engagement that doesn't deliver.

Senior involvement from day one.
Discovery, architecture, design, and build — all handled by York. There's no discovery-to-handoff pipeline here. The person who asks the questions in week one is the same person deploying the system in week six.
