Scottsdale Gymnastics
A gymnastics facility needed digital tools that managed class enrollment the way their business actually worked.
Scottsdale Gymnastics is a competitive and recreational gymnastics training facility serving youth athletes in the Scottsdale area. They offer classes across age groups and skill levels, with a scheduling and enrollment model that required more flexibility than generic gym management software provided.
Generic gym management platforms don't account for the specific enrollment rules of competitive gymnastics programs — class size limits, age and skill level prerequisites, session block registration, and the manual override requirements that coaches need. The facility was working around these limitations daily.
- Build enrollment management that matched their actual class structure
- Handle age and level prerequisites in the registration flow
- Give coaches visibility and override capability
- Simplify the parent registration experience
How we built it.
The custom development was designed around the facility's actual class structure — not an adapted generic model. Prerequisite logic, session blocks, class capacity management, and coach override controls were all built to match the workflows the staff already used, rather than requiring them to adapt to the software.
What changed.
The enrollment workflow that coaches and administrative staff managed manually was systematized. Parents encountered fewer friction points in registration, and the administrative team spent less time on manual exception handling.
"This is the kind of project where listening carefully in discovery saves everyone time. Generic software fails because the people who built it didn't understand the specific business model they were building for. Building something that does exactly what the business needs — not a general solution — is where custom development shows its value most clearly."
