Tonto Gravity Riders
A mountain biking club needed an identity that could become a recognized symbol on the trails.
Tonto Gravity Riders is a mountain biking club operating in the Tonto National Forest area of Arizona. Their identity needed to work across club jerseys, trail signage, stickers, and community recognition.
Sports and recreation logos need to carry a different kind of energy than professional services marks — they need to be recognizable as something worth belonging to. The identity needed to reflect the terrain and community spirit of the club.
- Create an identity that captured the spirit of trail riding and the Arizona landscape
- Design for apparel, stickers, and signage applications
- Build something members would be proud to wear
How we built it.
The design drew on Tonto National Forest's iconic terrain and the visual language of gravity mountain biking. The result was a bold mark that read clearly on jerseys and stickers at any size, with a personality that matched the club's trail culture.
What changed.
Tonto Gravity Riders launched with an identity their members were proud to ride behind. The mark has appeared on club jerseys, trail kiosks, and community event materials.
"Recreation club identity design is some of the most fun logo work. There's no conservative client brief to navigate — it's purely about capturing the spirit of the thing. The Arizona landscape gave me a lot to work with here."
