The Client

Ballooned Up is an event decoration company specializing in balloon artistry for parties, corporate events, and celebrations. Their brand needed to be playful and memorable while still looking professional to event planners and corporate clients.

The Challenge

Event company branding has to appeal to two audience types simultaneously: the celebration buyer who wants fun and whimsy, and the corporate buyer who needs to feel the company is professional enough for their event. Getting both right in a single mark is a design challenge.

Goals
  • Create a fun, memorable logo appropriate for celebration events
  • Maintain professional credibility for corporate event buyers
  • Design for social media use, business cards, and branded materials
  • Build something that could become visually recognized in the Phoenix market
Process

How we built it.

The mark balanced playful personality with clean execution — hand-lettering influence in the typography, a simple balloon icon that communicated the product, colors that were vibrant without being juvenile. Professional enough for a corporate holiday party brief, fun enough for a child's birthday.

Outcomes

What changed.

Ballooned Up launched with a brand that worked across their entire client spectrum. The mark has appeared across social media, vehicles, business cards, and event displays — carrying consistent recognition across all touchpoints.

Dual-audience brand balance — playful and professional
Custom typography with personality
Multiple color treatments for different event contexts
Social media and print-ready delivery
York's Take
"The brief was "fun but professional" — which sounds easy but is actually one of the harder design briefs to execute. Lean too far toward fun and you lose the corporate buyers. Too professional and the celebration buyers don't connect. The custom lettering in this mark was the solution — it carries personality without sacrificing legibility or cleanliness."
